May 2009

Well!  Joan Didion can't hold a candle to us!  We're much more lively and entertaining.  And besides, we can string several words together to form a complete sentence!
Anyway, we had a fun time last night.  Kudos to Elaine for still showing up in the midst of planning her daughter's wedding, and to Monica who drives 45 minutes to be with us.  I'd also like to welcome our friend Kate in Australia to the thread.  She dropped in to see us but wasn't able to coordinate her visit with the book club meeting.  Better planning next time, Kate!  Cheryl was here from Texas, took a book and sent her comments via email.  I guess the internet is good for something!
